I have 26 years of federal service, 22 years of which were in federal law enforcement. Several years ago, I met and was inspired by a positive reinforcement only dog trainer and behavior consultant who did such amazing work with dogs that I knew it was the next path I wanted my life to go in when I was ready to leave federal service behind. Little did I know that my experience and philosophy in leadership would have such a strong parallel to positive reinforcement dog training.

For the past several years as I’ve transitioned out of leading over 300 employees in a medium sized field office and into positive reinforcement only dog training, I have found the joy of sharing my experiences and the pure satisfaction of working with dogs and their guardians. Watching that bond of trust strengthen between dog and guardian is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve witnessed in my life.
